Color Scheme Types Explained

Complementary

Colors directly opposite each other on the color wheel. They create high contrast and can be used to make elements stand out.

Analogous

Colors located side by side on the color wheel. They usually match well and create serene and comfortable designs.

Triadic

Colors evenly spaced around the color wheel. This scheme is vibrant and creates visual contrast and harmony.

Tetradic (Double Complementary)

Uses four colors arranged into two complementary pairs. This is a rich color scheme but can be difficult to balance.

Monochromatic

Uses different shades, tints, and tones of a single color. This creates a subtle and cohesive look.
